The Witcher 3 Youtuber Finds the “Last Secret” by Meditating for 7 Years

Recently, a developer at CD Projekt Red teased that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt had one last secret that has yet to be found. Yes, despite releasing seven years ago, and having a massive, dedicated fan base, there was still one easter egg that no one had uncovered. Earlier this week, Youtuber xLetalis became the one to discover that secret.

The fact that it was xLetalis to do it doesn’t come as too much of a surprise, as they’ve made hundreds of videos going over the smallest bits of detail that have been included in the game. One of those videos revolved around the Blood and Wine Expansion, which was released back in 2016, and detailed the fate of Vivienne de Tabris, the NPC of The Warble of a Smitten Knight side quest.

In this quest, Geralt can cure Vivienne of her curse, which occasionally turns her into a bird monster, though it comes at the cost of her lifespan, shortening it to that of a bird’s, which is seven years.

If you choose this, you’ll be able to talk to her and find out she’s chosen to spend those seven years traveling, and she can even be found in Skellige.

As you can see in the video above, xLetalis used that information and decided to meditate for seven years time in-game where Vivienne was in Skellige. The result was that you do indeed find her dead, as the curse finally gets to her.

A CD Projekt Red developer confirmed this was indeed the last secret via a post to the Witcher subreddit. In the post, they state that developer Philipp Weber was responsible for this nice easter egg, and that they’re surprised it took so long to be found.

You can check out more details on the secret in the video above, as well as some more interesting theories on meditating even further into The Witcher 3. While you’re here, you can also check out all of the related features, news, and quizzes we’ve got for the game right down below.
